Add The Sporting News as a <a href="https://www.google.com/preferences/source?q=https://www.sportingnews.com">Preferred Source by clicking here</a>.</em></p><p>Cooper Flagg remains one of the most special young basketball players on the planet.</p><p>And on Sunday night, he did something no one has ever done in NBA history, not even LeBron James.</p><p>Flagg's stats in a Dallas overtime win were 21 points, eight rebounds, five assists, two blocks and a steal.</p><p><a href="https://x.com/BannedMacMahon/status/1990261429455433748https://x.com/BannedMacMahon/status/1990261429455433748" target="_blank">According to ESPN's Tim MacMahon</a>, no 18-year old has ever had all those stats in the same NBA game.</p><p>He added that James did the four numbers that aren't blocks on three occasions.</p><p>Flagg is just special.</p><p>He showed that even before he arrived at Duke when he played on the U.S. Select Team to prepare the Olympians for Paris 2024.</p><p>Then he showed it with the Blue Devils as the unquestioned best player in the country from the moment he showed up on campus. </p><p>And now he's showing with the <a href="https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nba/dallas-mavericks">Mavs</a>, having been the youngest player in the entire 2025 NBA Draft class, that he's a rising superstar.</p><p>Dallas has a weird mix of young and old right now.</p><p>Eventually, the Mavs will be a team built entirely around Flagg.</p><p>And with Coop as the centerpiece, the Mavericks can be anything they set their minds out to be.</p>)

Dodgers acquire minor league right-hander Tyler Gough from Mariners
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired minor league right-handed pitcher Tyler Gough from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for right-handed pitcher Robinson Ortiz, the teams announced Sunday night.
Gough, 22, went 7-4 with a 4.33 ERA in 23 starts for the Low-A Modesto Nuts in 2024. He did not pitch last season due to injury. Across two season with the Nuts, Gough went 8-7 with a 4.66 ERA and 123 strikeouts in 125 1/3 innings. The 6-foot-2 right-hander was selected by the Mariners in the ninth round of the 2022 MLB draft.
Ortiz, 25, finished the 2025 season with the Triple-A Oklahoma City Comets after spending parts of the season with the Dodgers' High-A and Double-A affiliates. Across 48 minor league appearances in 2025, Ortiz was 5-2 with a 3.19 ERA and 72 strikeouts.
