Fla Teen Who Vanished 5 Years Ago — and Recently Mailed Letters Home — Confirms Shes Safe

A missing Florida teen who vanished five years ago at age 14 but recently mailed letters home to her family has turned up and reported herself to be “safe,” PEOPLE confirms.

Few other details were released by the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, which reached out to the missing Emily Paul with a video on Facebook after her family reported receiving the letters last month.

It was unclear where she is or whether she’s spoken to her family, but after walking into an unidentified police department where authorities verified her identity, Paul, who now would be 19, “stated that she was safe, she had a support system and she was happy where she was,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

Her mother, Pam Massimiani, who first shared news about the letters July 26 on her Facebook page, responded Wednesday to another friend’s post about Emily’s discovery, saying, “It is the Grace of God that has sustained me through this. I give Him all the Glory Honor and Praise!”

Neither Massimiani nor the sheriff’s office has shared the content of Emily’s letters home.

Emily’s last known prior contact with her family came in April 2013, when authorities and her family said she left a note stating her intentions to run away and then vanished with a packed suitcase from the family’s home in Southport.

Police logged her disappearance as a missing person’s case, and noted that she appeared to follow tips found on websites that describe steps to take for a successful runaway, the Panama City News Herald reported. Emily fled with items such as her Xbox that might have linked her to online connections, and she never resurfaced on social media.

Three pings of Emily’s cell phone in the week that followed were the last evidence of her movements.

“Earlier this month, the Bay County Sheriff’s Office was notified that family members of Emily Paul had received letters in the mail from her,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement Tuesday. “In response to this, Captain Jason Daffin posted a video on Facebook, requesting Emily reach out to law enforcement, so that her safety coul

Identical Twin Sisters Who Married Identical Twin Brothers Are on a Joint Honeymoon — at Disney

Identical Twin Sisters Who Married Identical Twin Brothers Are on a Joint Honeymoon — at Disney

Earlier this month, identical twin sisters Krissie and Kassie Bevier wed identical twin brothers Zack and Nick Lewan in a pair of back-to-back, headline-making ceremonies. Now, the new couples are wrapping up their honeymoons with a trip to the most magical place on earth: Walt Disney World.

Krissie, Kassie, Nick and Zack, all 24, were expected to spend just a few days apart before meeting up again for a double-honeymoon at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando. Over the weekend, parkgoers were seeing double as the smiling pairs enjoyed the Magic Kingdom — wearing matching Mickey and Minnie t-shirts.

The women even sported white mouse ears with veils hanging from the accessories.

“We’ve been here, but to experience with them, it’s a whole new experience for us too,” Krissie (who married Zack) said of herself and her sister, according to Disney Parks Blog. Kassie added: “Anniversaries, birthdays, any time we can find an excuse, we would love to come back.”

The trip marked Nick and Zack’s first time at the theme park, but Krissie and Kassie were more than happy to show their new husbands around. After hopping on several rides, the crew had a special meet and greet with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. They posed for photos and smiled alongside the beloved characters.

“That was, like, the highlight of the trip so far,” Krissie gushed. “I wanted to meet Mickey and Minnie so bad. Because I haven’t seen them since I was really little.”

She added that the pairs plan to bring their future children to the park — “We’ll definitely have a couple of kids at least,” Krissie said. Zack added excitedly, “We’ll definitely want our kids to come here.”

The Michigan couples first made headlines earlier this month, when news broke that the identical twins would marry in a pair of ceremonies just one day after each other (Zack and Krissie on Aug. 3 and Nick and Kassie on Aug. 4) in Grass Lake. They shared a joint reception.

“There is a woman at our church who was like, ‘You guys just need to marry brothers and get a duplex,’ ” Krissie told The Jackson Citizen Patriot. “And we were just like, ‘Oh, okay, that’s a funny story.’

Matt Lauer to Pay Estranged Wife Annette Roque 20 Million in Divorce Settlement Reports

Matt Lauer to Pay Estranged Wife Annette Roque 20 Million in Divorce Settlement Reports

Matt Lauer‘s divorce with Annette Roque is nearing its finalization — and with it comes a multi-million dollar settlement.

Lauer, 60, has agreed to pay Roque, 51, up to $20 million in their divorce, which will soon be final, according to Page Six.

The outlet also reports that the couple, who wed 20 years ago in 1998, has agreed to share custody of sons Jack, 17, and Thijs, 11, and daughter Romy, 14.

Entertainment Tonight also reported the $20 million figure.

Lauer, a source told ET, “finally decided it was time to finalize everything and move forward and focus on the kids. He has a lot of guilt about how things went down and he wants to make sure Annette is taken care of.”

Now, “there is a noticeable difference in their attitude toward this entire process,” the source said. “They seem happier and their family and friends are thrilled to see they are both moving forward.”

Reps for Lauer did not return PEOPLE’s request for comment.

Last fall, the longtime Today host, 60, was fired from NBC in November for alleged inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace.

Roque once filed for divorce from Lauer in 2006, citing “cruel and inhumane” behavior, though she withdrew the petition three weeks later. And in 2014, Roque was once again “shopping for a divorce lawyer,” a legal source told PEOPLE earlier this year.

Following Lauer’s firing from NBC, the pair stopped wearing their wedding bands, were “preparing for divorce” as of April and were “barely speaking to each other.”

In May, a source told PEOPLE that “the damage in this marriage can’t be fixed.”

Now that an official split is imminent, it won’t be simple for the duo to divide their considerable assets.

In November, Time estimated Lauer’s earnings over his NBC career to be over $100 million; for the last few years of his career there, the New York Daily News reported his salary as $25 million annually.

The couple own a Hamptons mansion — where Roque currently lives with their three children and Lauer has been living in the guest house, according to a source — that they bought from Richard Gere in 2016 for $36.5 million.

They also own a nearby Sag Harbor home that’s currently on the market for $12.75 million, and a New York City townhouse tha
